The 2013 Mustang charged in to dealer showrooms last month with fresh styling, some new features and a few more ponies (at least in the 5.0 GT). The public is patiently awaiting the new Boss 302, which should be showing up any day now, and the incredible 2013 Shelby Cobra GT500, with its 650 horsepower, supercharged 5.8 mill, due this summer. For now, if you’re one of the lucky owners of a brand-new Coyote-powered Mustang GT 5.0 or a 3.7 V6 screamer, you will be pleased to know that we’ve got your parts! We’ve done the research here at latemodelrestoration.com, and we know what fits. We are putting parts on our own 2013 GTs as we speak, and we have updated our inventory to show you exactly what fits and what won’t.
This video is a collection of shots from the 2012 Texas Lonestar Roundup at Texas World Speedway, which we sponsored with Track Guys. There was a good showing (19 Bosses!) and it was a lot of fun overall. Everyone there got in some good track time, as well as the driver’s school for the newer drivers. Each driver was placed into one of four groups, ranging from complete novice to experienced veteran. There were some really awesome Mustangs of course, as well as some others. Lee got a chance to track-test his new brake setup, so stay tuned for his report!
With Spring and Summer come ideas of vacation and spending time at the beach; however, for car guys/gals, the planning of what car shows to attend begins. Car show season is about to get into full swing, we are just as excited as all the other fellow Mustang Enthusiasts. One of the big shows we are sponsoring and attending this year is Mustang Week. We recently got word that the guys at Mustang Week just opened up the online registration. If you plan on attending you might want to jump on the chance to register online. There are limited numbers of spaces for the car show and with an amazing event like Mustang Week these spaces will not last long.
Today marks the 48th year since the Mustang was released at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. Mustang Mania started on that day, and has continued for nearly 50 years. Since that faithful day, millions of our favorite pony car have galloped their way through dealers’ and devoted enthusiasts’ hands.
