1999 – 2004 Mustangs are notorious for having fading and cloudy headlights. Sometimes I think headlight cleaning kits were invented just for these Mustangs. The headlight cleaning kits only work so many times before it is time to replace the worn out stock headlights with a new set. The good thing is replacement 99-04 Mustangs headlights are inexpensive and very easy to install. There are quite a few choices for replacement and aftermarket headlights for this year model Mustang. To help ease your decision process, we set out to install a couple different versions of the headlights for you to see on a “new edge” SN95 Mustang.

Jonathan from our Research Department was nice enough to donate his 2003 SVT Cobra for our install and comparison. Jonathan just recently picked up this nice looking Cobra and it was in need of a little TLC. The aftermarket headlights that came on the car when he bought it were fading and the clear coat was peeling off. 99-04 Mustang Headlight Install Video

Installation:

1. Open hood

2. Locate retaining clips and pull up to remove

3. Gently pull headlight away from header panel. Be careful not to pull too hard and break the headhlight and side marker bulb connections.

4. Disconnect the headlight and side marker bulbs connections from wiring harness.

5. If required, remove bulbs from old stock headlights and move them to the new headlights.

6. Reverse steps above to re-install headlights and enjoy!
