I first fell in love with Mustangs when a couple of my friends would give me rides home from school back in high school. I fell in love with the Fox Body Mustang since this is what they both drove. My first Mustang was an ’87 GT convertible. It wasn’t very pretty, but it never broke down on me and kept my interest alive in those cars. I would scour all the big Mustang forums learning all I could about them and look at other Mustangs to get ideas on what to do to mine. I’ve also owned a ’91 GT hatchback and an ’89 LX coupe. I did small modifications to the first two, but the ’89 Mustang had the most done to it.
Owning these cars for long periods of time and experiencing what most other Fox Body owners run into has helped me pass my knowledge onto our customers to make their problems turn into easy solutions. I’ve done most of the work I can to my cars myself except some of the major fixes, such as rear gears and clutch installs, but I was there watching to give myself an idea what it takes to do that kind of job.
I have also owned a ’99 Ford SVT Lightning that I regret selling to this day. It had over 200k miles on it and still ran like a champ. I didn’t do much to that truck except a super important JLT oil separator and an FRPP Lightning lowering kit as well as a few restoration items to get it looking like a Lightning again. My dream is to get another Lightning and Mustang one day so that I can tow the Mustang with the Lightning to the road race track.
One of my favorite things to do is going to the road race track. I’ve gone to Hallett Motor Racing Circuit and Texas World Speedway multiple times with the ’89 Mustang I used to have. I sat in the Track Guys classes and soaked in all the knowledge I could on how to properly race on the track. The thrill and adrenaline you get is second to none!!!
Because of my passion for Mustang and road racing is what makes me feel blessed to work at such a great company as LatemodelRestoration.com. I appreciate the opportunity they give me to work with the cars I love so much; however, I get the most satisfaction by being able help out fellow Mustang enthusiasts.
