Mustang Week 2012: Vaughn Gittin Jr. Unveils the New 2013 Mustang RTR

Vaughn Gittin Jr. unveiled his new 2013 Mustang RTR earlier this week, and we definitely like what we see! The 2013 edition of the “Ready To Rock” pony car features an updated look, custom tuned sound courtesy of Magnaflow, and Ford Racing suspension parts. At first glance, there’s not much in the new RTR performance package that has been radically changed from the previous model. It does, however, come in two factory-prepared options, Spec 1 and Spec 2.

The Spec 1 kit mainly features the base appearance package, front and rear spoilers, Magnaflow axleback mufflers for a “robotic” tuned sound and extra 9 hp, and rolls on 19″x9.5″ RTR wheels wrapped in Falken tires. The ride sits on Ford Racing 1″ lowering springs for a comfortable, yet aggressive stance. Topping off this Spec 1 kit are all the finishing touches including: RTR exterior badging, a custom shifter, numbered and signed dash plate, and special floor mats.

The Spec 2 kit goes one step further and adds a whole list of performance and function upgrades to the already potent Spec 1 package. This includes a Ford Racing tuned computer that yields an additional 16hp and 60lb-ft of torque, and a Ford Racing full suspension package. Fully customize and tune your Mustang RTR handling performance with adjustable shocks and 1″ or 1.5″ lowering springs, four way adjustable sway bars, adjustable Panhard bar, and a custom rear chassis brace. The RTR also comes with a setup guide to get new owners acquainted with all the different configurations and adjustments that can be made on the Spec 2 suspension package.

While the original RTR was a great package in its own right, the 2013 RTR has definitely gone above and beyond. The race inspired exterior styling paired with an abundance of new suspension and performance upgrades lends plenty of options for any Mustang enthusiast. We’re sure this new RTR ‘Stang from Vaughn Gittin Jr. is bound to be a hit!
